When it comes to diving, we know what we are talking about. Bonaire has over 80 dive sites to explore by boat or from shore and has set an example in marine conservation. Which is exactly why we are one of the top dive destinations in the world. Bonaire is home to more than 350 species of colorful fish, as well as over 120 types of coral, with visibility reaching 90 to 150 feet. Most importantly, the waters around the island have been designated as a national park and are managed by the Bonaire Marine Park, protecting them year round for your enjoyment, as well as for future generations.

Toucan Diving offers you everything you need to learn about scuba-diving, to relax and enjoy the beautiful corals, the many colored fish and sea-turtles. We have dive and snorkel equipment, professional and experienced instructors and a dive shop. We offer scuba diving and dive excursions directly in front of the resort and to more secluded areas. If you are interested in this wonderful and fascinating world, try one of our introduction dives and perhaps you will leave the island as an addicted diver with a dive-certificate you can use all over the world and a home you can always return to for diving.

What makes Bonaire so special is the location of the coral reefs so close to the shore. You don't have to go very far to see stunning parrot fish, schools of colorful fish or even turtles. And at night...braise yourself for an encounter with Charlie the tarpon. We offer guided snorkel sail trips to Klein Bonaire and other locations. Check out these sites for some great snorkeling: Karpata, Town Pier, Ol'Blue, Andrea I and II, Thousand Steps and our own house reef Eighteenth Palm. And don't worry about equipment, if you need snorkel equipment, we have a great assortment for rent or sale at the Toucan dive shop. We offer snorkel lessons for young and old, guided snorkeling boat trips, night snorkeling and sail snorkel trips.

Kayaking is one of the activities that is gaining most popularity on Bonaire. We offer guided tours through the mangroves at Lac Bay or you can rent your own and have some fun along the coast line. We offer single and double sit on top kayaks and with Bonaire's calm waters you should be able to enjoy this activity without too much effort. Kayaking can also be combined with a snorkel experience and is not limited to the mangroves. 

Let us introduce you to some of Bonaire's best kept secrets. Bonaire has a quite a diversified cave system of dry caves, caves with tunnels and even caves that offer snorkeling. Our guides can take you to spots, show you interesting stalagmites and stalactites and point out tiny critters that only they know how to find. Bring along some sturdy shoes and a wetsuit or dive skin. We will supply a back pack, light, snorkel set, water and a towel for you to use. Our groups have a maximum of four and a minimum of two people.

AQUAKIDS
Aquakids is a fun educational program for children ages 5 to 12 that takes place over a course of 5 mornings. Kids will learn about the underwater nature with its inhabitants and why it is so important to protect our coral reef and fish life. They will explore the wonders of the Caribbean Sea while learning how to snorkel safely. This all takes place at Plaza Resort Bonaire and in the calm shallow waters of the resort's house reef and at different other snorkel locations. The program also includes a boat trip to Klein Bonaire. The course is a supervised half day program and your kids will get some nibbles, drinks, they don't need to bring their own towel, they'll get a t-shirt, their certification at the end and photographs as memories of their unique experience on Bonaire. They must be able to swim and it's recommended to give them plenty of suntan lotion and some snorkel equipment. In case they don't have snorkel equipment of their own, you can also rent or buy from us. 

Aquakids Weekly Activities
Day 1 Introduction to the reef combined with a mini Skin Diver session; Fish Identification; Snorkel Trip at 18th Palms.	Day 4 Introduction to our PADI 'SASY' program; Snorkel skills; Treasure hunt.
Day 2 Introduction to our Aqua Club and Aqua Art projects; Snorkel skills & games; Practical first aid sessions.	Day 5 Finishing our Aqua art projects; Surprise Trip; Certifications.
Day 3 Boat trip to Klein Bonaire; Water based and land based games; Scavenger hunt.	Activities may vary during the week; Kids must be able to swim; Snorkel equipment available for rent; Kids can be picked up for a small fee.

SASY
SASY stands for Supplied Air Snorkeling for Youth. This program is for kids from the age of 5 and up. They will experience snorkeling with a BCD-like floating device -a small scuba unit- breathing compressed air while skimming the surface. We rent out the SASY units for kids to use with an adult or kids can  take a class with one of our experienced instructors. 

BUBBLE MAKER
Bubble Maker is a Discovery Scuba program for kids from the age of 8 years old. They will be geared up with an entire scuba unit including a kiddies tank and experience scuba diving with an instructor in the swimming pool. For the more adventurous kids this can be followed with a dive in the shallow waters in front of the resort up to a depth of 2 meters. For children from the age of 10, but also for adults alike, there is the Discover Scuba Diving. This is a trial dive in the swimming pool including one dive in the ocean up to a depth of 12 meters.

PADI OPEN WATER
From the age of 10, kids can become fully PADI certified and become Junior Open Water Divers certifying them to dive with their parents, a professional diver or an adult (depending on their age). The course entails four days of training including four dives in the ocean. For kids that cannot take the full open water course, because of too little time or not wanting to spend time in a four-day course, PADI offers the PADI Scuba Diver. This is a 2 day program that includes two open water dives in the ocean and three confined dives in the swimming pool, certifying people from the age of 10 to dive with a professional diver. After that, if they still wish to become fully certified, they can pick up where they left by completing the other half of the course and becoming an Open Water Diver.

See Bonaire from a different  angle and experience Bonaire's waters by boat. You can either enjoy going on a sail charter while someone else does the work for you or you can be "captain of your own ship". We rent fully equipped 12 foot motor boats, with life vests and VHF radio, (Boston Whalers) for half or full day. A great opportunity to discover the beautiful beaches and snorkel sites on Klein Bonaire without worrying about time.

Discover the island's back roads, beautiful vista's and flora by mountain bike. Bonaire has an expanding network of bike trails, designed to suit different levels. The trails, that are marked by orange stones, take you to visit areas and see things that you would not ordinarily see by car. A fun way to explore the island and experience nature op close. Make sure to wear airy clothes, have enough sunscreen on and carry a back pack with water. 

If you wish to take things a bit slower, not all our activities are quite so active. We have four tennis courts you can make use of by day and night, games of volleyball you can play on the beach with new made friends or maybe a dip in the pool will suit you just fine. For those who wish to keep in shape, we have a gym on site and offer a selection of aerobic, body shaping, body toning and body building classes.
